Transcription Updates - Overview

Big Improvements to CrowdSurf HITs in MTurk and CrowdSurfWork!

In our efforts to provide greater efficiency, higher rewards and overall transparency we have made significant improvements to our CrowdSurf Transcription HITs.

HIGHLIGHTS

1. Faster Load Times

Our new platform will reduce load times for the media by up to 50%!   

You will notice a significant improvement in speed to completing HIT’s allowing you to continue on to your next HIT.  

Less waiting around equals more money in your pocket!

2. Higher Rewards for Longer HITs

This is the most exciting enhancement of all.  Previously, you were paid the same reward for a 16 second HIT as you were for a 25 second HIT.  

Now, we've made the reward amount variable so you can earn more for the tasks that take more time to complete.

The total reward for the HIT is viewable once you preview the HIT - so don’t be deterred by the base price! Each task type indicates the highest variable price available in the description.

3. Dashboard

In our efforts to help you better keep track of the HITs you’ve worked and your total earnings we’ve created a payment and review history Dashboard.  The New Dashboard is accessible on the “Stats” tab once you’ve accepted a HIT in MTurk.

Payment and Review History Link - this link will give you a more detailed look at your work history.  It includes an individualized view of the tasks you worked and specific information for each individual task including the score received.

4. Quality Feedback

Now when you click on your QC score, you will receive detailed feedback on the HIT. This will help you review your score and any errors that were corrected.

RECAP

When you log into MTurk, CrowdSurf HITs look the same as before.  The improvements you will notice are:

• HITs will load 50% faster.
• Base and Actual reward pricing now outlined at the top of the HIT.
• Reporting dashboard with earnings
• Access to reviewed HITs

All playback functionality will remain unchanged. You will still be able to skip, accept or auto-accept HITs.  The guidelines, bonus announcements, help and statistics informational box will all remain visible within the player.
